A client recently came to our store after having her rings cut off. While we can cut off rings in our store, many people have their rings cut off at the fire department, or in the hospital following a medical emergency.
The rings were badly damaged while being cut off. The engagement ring was stretched dramatically, and the client’s wedding band was in two pieces.
Instead of paying to repair the rings, the client wanted to know if she could create a totally new ring, using pieces of her original rings.
Our design team went to work, suggesting she use the three stones from her original engagement ring as the focal point of her new ring. Our specialist then suggested that she use the small diamonds from her original wedding band as accent stones in her new ring. Interested in the idea, we developed computer renderings of what that would look like.
The customer loved the mock-up, so the ring immediately went into production.
The final product was gorgeous. The original three stones were beautifully complemented by the smaller accent stones on either side.
We used a total of 12 small stones, 4 from her original band and 8 that we matched and supplied.
