We find that many of our clients come to us not necessarily needing additional jewelry—but instead—needing help combining the jewelry they already have into something new and fresh.
After all, years of special occasions can lead to full jewelry boxes!
In this recent case a client came to us with two three stone rings. She wanted to combine the rings into one that she could wear with a new wedding band.
She also thought it might be nice to incorporate a larger diamond, as well, to upgrade her look. She wanted to do that while using all the existing diamonds she already had.
Our design team went to work, first helping her select a new primary stone. She chose a beautiful 1.30 ct. natural round diamond.
Then our designer created a plan to use four of her other stones in one ring with this new diamond. We opted to set these 5 stones in a yellow gold ring with white gold heads.
Those heads are the part of the ring that hold the diamonds. By making the head white, we limit the amount of color intrusion into the diamonds—diamonds, of course, are meant to be colorless!
We still had two original diamonds left over, so our designer thought a necklace may be a great way to use those stones, and the original wedding band.
The original diamond wedding band was used as a frame, then our Goldsmith bezel set the two remaining diamonds at the top.
For a little extra pizzazz we added a diamond bail as well.
This client can now enjoy one upgraded ring, as well as a stunning necklace, knowing that all of her original, sentimental jewelry was used in these new pieces!
