Jewelry often evokes memories of loved ones.
In this case, our client was given a large emerald cocktail ring by her beloved Aunt.
She loved the ring, and wore it, but she felt it was too formal looking to be worn regularly.
When she came to our design specialists, she expressed that she wanted to redesign the ring so she could wear it more often. That meant not only changing the style to something that made her more comfortable, but also setting the stone into a ring that was more durable. The original ring was quite thin, so she wanted something a bit heftier to limit wear and tear. She also wanted to change it to a yellow gold ring.
Our designers worked on a new concept, developing a ring that would showcase the beautiful emerald in a more secure style.
We opted for a split shank style, meaning the ring branches on either side of the emerald. In each branch we added accent diamonds for a little extra sparkle.
For many of our custom designs we present computer renderings to our client, showing our proposed design.
Once those designs are approved, the ring moves into production.
In this case, the final ring looked spectacular. The pear shaped emerald shines as the star of the ring, flanked by rows of brilliant round diamonds.
Our client was delighted; she was able to maintain the memories of her Aunt, while also enjoying a ring that matches her day to day style!
