It takes a lot of time to select the pieces of jewelry we display in our showcases. All year we’re sourcing fine jewelry from around the world, hand selecting what you end up seeing in our showroom. We often travel to find the best pieces—quality that meets our standards, a style that matches what our clients want, and value.
At the end of May we traveled to Las Vegas for the nation’s largest gathering of the jewelry industry. We spent days connecting with existing vendors, seeing and trying on their new styles, and chatting with potential new suppliers. As we explored the maze of options, a few clear trends became evident:
Yellow Gold Still Dominant, but White Creeps Back
For years now yellow gold has been the metal of choice, and that was certainly still the case this season.
However, we couldn’t help but notice a little more white gold starting to creep back into some of the core collections, especially for pieces featuring diamonds.
Delicate is Still the Favorite
Layering has been a huge hit lately—around the neck, on the wrist, and even in the ear.
To wear so many pieces at once, the jewelry is generally petite. And that is still what we’re seeing a lot of. Sure, there are statement pieces mixed in, like big fun hoops or a statement necklace, but those headline pieces are supplemented by delicate studs or thin chain bracelets and necklaces.
Be Different
New England tends to be a fairly traditional part of the country, but we always strive to have fun, different, fashion forward pieces. Right now those fashion forward pieces really focus on the wearer’s unique personality, showcased through colored gems and different shape stones.
Colored gemstones represent birthstones, astrological signs, and other deeply personal manifestations of oneself. Showcasing “you” through color, with stones that look a little different—think marquise or oval shape, for example—is having a moment.
Some of the new pieces we selected in Las Vegas are already arriving in our showroom, and they’ll keep coming right into the fall.
We can’t wait for you to stop by to explore the new collections!
