Sometimes our custom projects involve one piece. Other times, like this, the projects span across multiple pieces.
This client came in with a total of three rings. Some were hers, others had come from members of her family.
She wanted a more modern look for her rings, since they needed repair anyway, and she didn't like how high the diamonds sat. She found they were spinning a lot, which is often a consequence of higher settings. She wanted to combine her rings into two three stone rings that sat lower.
We showed her a variety of setting styles in our showroom, choosing those that she liked most.
Then we went to work, designing a simple three stone ring to fit her stones using the preferences she outlined in our design showroom. She reviewed the computer renderings that we generated for her, and started creating the ring after we had her approval.
She loved it--a modern refresh that sits more like a band than a high-set ring. Notice how it looks in the rendering, above, versus real life, below.
Then it was on to the next ring. She wanted to use the remaining diamonds she had, so none went to waste. We created a similar three-stone ring, but added small accent diamonds down each side of the shank for extra sparkle.
After creating these two rings, there was still one diamond left over. We used that in her husband’s plain yellow gold wedding band. Our Goldsmith set the ring right inside of it, sitting flush.
So, in total, three rings were transformed using these sentimental diamonds. Our client plans to pass the rings on to her nieces in the future, keeping the family tradition alive for years to come.
